- 8 large eggs (or use 4 whole eggs and 6 egg whites for a lighter version)
- 1 cup whole or 2% milk
- ½ teaspoon seasoned salt (such as Lawry's)
- 8 ounces diced cooked ham
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 3 tablespoons very finely diced sweet onion
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or spray an 8-inch square baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and set it aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together 8 large eggs, 1 cup of milk, and ½ teaspoon of seasoned salt until smooth and well-combined.
Stir in 8 ounces of diced cooked ham, 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese, and 3 tablespoons of finely diced sweet onion. Mix until everything is evenly distributed.
Pour the egg mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the eggs are fully set. Check doneness by inserting a knife into the center of the casserole—if it comes out clean, it's ready.
Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice it into squares and garnish with freshly chopped chives or parsley, if desired.
