Ingredients

  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 (5-ounce) can evaporated milk (about 2/3 cup)
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter (12 tablespoons)
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
  • 1 (10-ounce) package peanut butter chips
  • 1 (7-ounce) jar marshmallow creme
  • 1/4 cup salted peanuts (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Baking Dish

  • Butter an 8×8-inch baking dish or spray it with nonstick cooking spray and set it aside. This will prevent the fudge from sticking once it’s set.

Combine Sugar, Milk, and Butter

  • In a medium-sized, heavy pot, combine the sugar, milk, and butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture comes to a boil.

Boil the Mixture

  • Once the mixture reaches a boil, allow it to boil for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly. To ensure you get the perfect texture, use a candy thermometer to check that the mixture reaches the soft ball temperature of 235°F.

Stir in Peanut Butter and Peanut Butter Chips

  • Remove the pot from the heat. Immediately stir in the peanut butter, peanut butter chips, and marshmallow creme. Stir until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Add Nuts (Optional)

  • If you're adding salted peanuts for extra crunch, mix them into the fudge, reserving a few to sprinkle on top. This step is optional but adds a great texture contrast.

Pour into Baking Dish

  • Quickly pour the fudge mixture into the prepared 8×8-inch baking dish. Smooth it out to create an even layer.

Let the Fudge Cool

  • Allow the fudge to cool completely at room temperature. Once cooled, cut into squares or rectangles as desired.
